The tech community coming together to help end hunger.

There’s no reason anyone should go hungry in two of the nation’s most prosperous counties.  But as many as 1 in 4 people in San Francisco and Marin don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Let’s make that number zero.

Join us November 7-18, 2016, for #HackHunger – a campaign to raise $500,000 to help end hunger in San Francisco and Marin.

The tech community coming together

#HackHunger rallies the tech community  to help the Food Bank provide fresh, healthy food for  225,000 neighbors  who rely on us every year. It’s a two-week, friendly fundraising competition:  Join  fellow start-ups, tech, software, hardware, and app developers – the whole tech community – in our mission to end hunger in our community.

Goal = raise $500,000

That’s enough to cover the cost of a new delivery truck, plus fuel and maintenance for the Food Bank’s 18-vehicle fleet for one year.

96% of donated resources are applied directly to our programs

For every $1 donated we are able to provide $5 dollars worth of food.

Food is more than the difference between an empty plate and a full stomach. Providing food is about alleviating stress, promoting long-lasting health benefits, and creating opportunities for people to focus on goals and dreams. Food makes it possible for kids to learn more in school, for adults to perform better at work, and for seniors to stay healthy and active. Having enough to eat transforms people’s lives.
